45s Take Rubber Game
The 45s took advantage of a bevy of free passes and hit the ball well in the first three innings to take a 14-0 lead on their rivals, the Hollywood Angels. Dave Noll pitched three scoreless innings before exiting and his relief staff was able to hold down a potent Angel offense, the rest of the way. Offensive standouts were Elliot Reinfeld with two hits, two runs and two RBI, and a "real" stolen base. Herb Weaver cranked a double to the fence, one of his three hits on the evening.
Mike Fortunado pitched well for the Angels, but it was too little, too late. Perhaps these two teams will meet again in the post season. Check back every half hour for potential updates!!
(Two runs were scored in the top of the eight by the 45s, but the game was called due to time limit. The runs weren't counted in the final score, but personal stats went to those who batted in the final half frame.)
