Pirates win, bottom of the 9th, Buzz Moore's curtain call
In Buzz Moore's finale the Pirates and Stallions battled in the heat in San Fernando down to the bottom of the 9th before Roger Stewart's bases loaded, two out walk off single ended the game. Buzz Moore took his final swing before Stewart's walk off hitting a hot smash to Stallion 3rd baseman, Martin Campbell who threw to home for the force out setting up the final at bat of the game. Campbell and John Petrocelli matched each other with 3 shutout innings to start the game before both teams tallied 4 runs each in the 4th. The Pirates were once again led by 3 hits from Jerry Whitaker and 2 RBI's and 3 big hits from Twitt Gibson who also scored two runs. Rod Arancibia threw 4 innings of one run relief and Robert Reeves got the win in the 9th. The Pirates wish best of luck to Buzz in his retirement in Georgia and big thanks for each of his Sundays of great sportsmanship and being the ideal teammate for so many seasons.
