Pirates tip Bandits in the bottom of the 10th at Marshall

The Pirates and Bandits battled to extra innings in the rolling hills of Marshall High in a great contest. The Bandits scored 3 in the 2nd with 2 safe plays at the plate on 3 singles. Anthony Di Pietro shut the Pirates down yielding a run in the 3rd on a Twitt Gibson sac fly. Pirate pitcher John Petrocelli got out of bases loaded 1 out jam when Mike Pedote fielded a grounder at 3rd and fired to home for the force and catcher Frank Gonzalez tossed the hitter out at first for an inning ending double play. The Bandits were throwing leather all day making great plays in the infield and outfield robbing Pirate batters of hits. The Pirates tied the game in the 6th with back to back RBI doubles from Jerry Whitaker and Jose Pelayo. Both teams scored a run in the 7th and Scott Disharoon took over the mound the rest of the way for the Pirates tossing 2 hit ball over the last 4 innings. In the bottom of the 10th Frank Gonzalez opened with a single, was moved by Scott Disharoon on a sac bunt, which was followed by John Petrocelli single before Twitt Gibson delivered a single up the middle by the drawn in Bandit infield. Gibson had two hits on the day and 2 RBI's and made big plays in RF all day. Great game all around.
