A five-run explosion in the fourth inning carried Scarborough Red Storm Varsity to a 9-2 win in seven innings over Kennebunk at Scarborough on Wednesday.

Alyssa Williamson had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. She singled in the third inning, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the first and sixth innings.

Erin Giles struck out eight hitters en route to the Scarborough Red Storm Varsity win. Giles allowed no earned runs on six hits and no walks over seven innings.

Williamson, Giles and Marisa O'Toole helped lead Scarborough Red Storm Varsity. They combined for nine hits and six RBIs.

The lead stayed with Scarborough Red Storm Varsity after the first, when it scored two runs on two doubles.
