A nine-run explosion in the third inning lifted Scarborough Red Storm Varsity to a 12-0 win in six innings over Cheverus at Scarborough on Monday.
Megan Murrell got on base three times in the game for Scarborough Red Storm Varsity. She scored two runs and had one RBI. She doubled in the third inning.
Scarborough Red Storm Varsity's Erin Giles kept Cheverus off the scoreboard for all six innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up six.
