Grace Farnkoff collected three hits, helping Scarborough Red Storm Varsity to a 9-5 victory over Biddeford on Tuesday at Biddeford.
She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.
Even though Erin Giles allowed five runs over seven innings she still recorded the victory. Giles struck out three, walked two and gave up 10 hits.
Scarborough Red Storm Varsity never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on an RBI double by Alyssa Williamson, an error, and an RBI single by Megan Murrell.
Scarborough Red Storm Varsity increased its lead with six runs in the fourth. Farnkoff started the inning with a single, plating Sophia Burnham and Mary Redmond. That was followed up by Williamson's double, bringing home Marisa O'Toole and Farnkoff.
After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fourth, Biddeford faced just a 9-5 deficit. An RBI single by Marih Albert and a two-run double by Katelyn Lebreau gave Biddeford life. Scarborough Red Storm Varsity stopped the rally after Giles got Abbie Paquette to fly out.
