Quinn Construction Battles Back To Sweep Season Series
On Monday night, Quinn Construction and Clancy's locked horns for the third time in 4 days. Both coaches sent their young arms out to pitch in game 3. Jon Beveridge started for Clancy's. Zack Salmon started for Quinn Construction. Both teams scored a run in the first inning making it 1-1. For the next three innings, the youngsters got the best of the opposing hitters. Quinn's Mudcats got a run across in the 5th making it 2-1 but Clancy's responded with two runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 3-2 lead. The Mudcats refused to lose, however. In the top of the 7th with one out, Dan Campbell drove a 3-2 pitch into left field for a double. Brooks Marzka tied the game up with a shot of his own to left. Zack Miller followed with a single that brought home Marzka and gave the Mudcats a 4-3 lead. Ryan Kandsberger added an insurance run when he singled home Miller to make it 5-3. Jason Milko, who relieved Salmon in the 6th, held Clancy's scoreless in the 7th to earn the win.
