Medrano Goes Yard Twice, Trites Once, Kason Goes Distance
The Pirates jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the Brewers came back and held a 6-4 advantage after four innings, a lead they never relinquished.
Sam Kason pitched a complete game and contributed three hits with the bat. Efrain Medrano, besides making stellar plays at shortstop, had two homers on the day and a sac fly, driving in three. Matt Trites had four RBIs, including a three-run blast. Reggie Dominguez and Fred Goetschel had two hits each.
Adam Daniels (who made some web gems at short) and Brian Poulter each had two singles and a double to highlight the Pirates' offense.
