Are You F....g, Kidding Me?
At least no one lost!
In the 2nd inning the Condors jump out to their 1st lead of the year. It lasts 1/2 inning until the Greys come up to bat and score 2. In the 6th with the Greys up by 6, the Condors squeeze out 3 runs to narrow the gap. This lasts 1/2 inning until the Greys score another 3 and lead by 6 again. In the 8th and final inning, the Condors scratch and claw their way to 6 runs to tie the score. A number hits, BBs and Greys errors assist the Condors in their comeback. With the score tied and the home team Greys coming up for their last AB and chance to win, the Condors bring in Mark (Wallenda*) Wilkinson to pitch. Mark not having pitched for umpteen years walks the first 3 batters. This forces the Condors to bring in the IF an OF since the winning run is now at 3B with no outs. Mark gains his composure and control to K the next 2 batters.
Now, with the infield and outfield back to normal depth, Brian Krause drives a line shot into the LF gap. The ball is about 2" above the grass when LF Craig Pizella (PP) dives out, and fully outstretched, gloves the ball AND hangs on to preserve the tie. Game over! BK throws up his arms and makes the now famous quote directed at Craig; "Are you f..... g kidding me?" This was a catch that would make an MLB highlight reel. For the Greys, good performances from Benn Miranda pitching 6 strong innings. Also, Brian Krause, a nuisance all day for the Condors, gets on base 4 times, steals a bunch of bases and scores 3 runs. David Loyola collects 3 hits. Dave Gawkowski gets 3 hits and 3 stolen bases for the Condors. Every Condor gets at least 1 hit.
