Angels Prevail!
This was a pitching duel for 4 innings as elder statesmen Rick McGahey and Jess Whitehill proved that there is life, even baseball life, after 60. The Grays took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th but the Angels pulled ahead with 4 in the top of the 5th to pull ahead for good, adding runs in the 6th and 8th. McGahey goes distance for the Grays and Whitehill goes 7 for the Angels before handing it over to Billy Johnson for the close. Dennis Clancy led the offense, going 3-4 (double, 2 runs), Tim Hopkins, 2-3 (2 doubles, 2 runs), and Charles Blakey, 2-5 (2 rbi).
For the Grays, David Loyola goes 3-3 with 2 shots to deep right, driving in one run, and scoring the other. McGahey goes 2-2 with a BB.
