Stallions clinch Playoff berth
In memory of Shiggy, the Stallions downed the Red Birds in a hard-fought battle to attain a three-way tie for 2nd place at season's end. A well-pitched game on both sides, Joey Martino went 5 solid innings for the win with Jack Sanchez ringing up the save. Multi-hit game for Sanchez (with 2 RBI), Frank Picha and Dave Chambers, and another of his patented multi-walk games for Carlos Ponce. Greg Frey pitched well for the Cardinals, but walked 9; also went 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI. Game reverted back to Cards half of sixth since they were unable to get 3 outs on Stallions before time expired.
