Hounds pick up a win in walkoff fashion
As time expired, the expansion Rockhounds picked up an inaugural walkoff win in the bottom of the 8th when Jeremy Hache lined a single to right. The Hounds jumped out to a quick lead by plating 4 in the 1st, but the Brookside Dodgers bats would not be denied. The Dodgers stormed back to a big lead, but the Rockhounds kept battling and scored 5 in the 8th to win. For the Hounds' offense, Brad Urba scored 4 runs, Pat Allen knocked in 4, Augie Loya knocked in 3 and Carlos Rodriguez and Bill Burns each went 2-4 and . Mike Lundy Pitched a solid 4 innings and Greg Frey picked up the win in relief.
