Dogs catch Cats
In a game that some said the Tigers "should win easily", the LA Paladino's Rockhounds scratched out a tie that was hard-fought by both teams. The Verdugo Tigers jumped out to an 8-1 lead after only 4 innings. But the Tigers soon found that the dogs wouldn't give up chasing them. The Tigers surrendered 8 runs between the 5th and 6th to fall behind before both teams decided they'd better start playing a little better defense if they weren't going to head home with an L and a well-played latter part of the game ended in a 10-10 tie.
For the 'Hounds, Brad Urba went 4-5 with an RBI and a double out of the leadoff spot, while stealing a bag and scoring 2 runs. Augie Loya went 2-3 with a couple ribs and Greg Frey threw 9 strong innings while going 2-4 with a triple at the plate. The two teams battled all day but the baseball gods required one team to lose. However, both teams committed sacrilege, as this one ended in a tie.
