Bandits Give Titans First Loss

The Bandits relied on stellar pitching from Jeff Gould, Jeff Wells and Tom Kopp to shut down the heavy hitters of the Titans. Gould notched the win by going 5 innings and not allowing an earned run. An error by an aging 2nd baseman (not Gorman) opened the door for 3 unearned runs by the Titans but after that, it was a dry day for their bats. Jeff Wells threw 3 strong innings in relief striking out three and Tom Kopp picked up the save closing things out in the 9th. Offensively the Bandits were led by Jerry Whitaker who had 3 hits on the day and Mark Gorman who chipped in two hits as well. Andy Schwindt reached base 4 times, as he was hit by the pitcher 3 times to go along with a single.
