Angel Bats Awaken!
As shortstop Dave Tipton returned, so did the Angels bats, scoring 13 runs in the first 4 innings en route to a 13-1 win over the Royals. The Halos banged out 20 hits, led by Andrew Pelter (4-4, 3 runs, double, rbi); Tim Hopkins, (3-4, single, double,HR and 3 rbi) and 2 hits apiece from Blakey, Loyola, Johnson and Collins. The Angels also played errorless defense to back the stellar pitching, led by Whitehill who went 6, giving up only 1 unearned run on 2 hits, 0 walks and retiring the last 11 batters faced. Bill Johnson finished it out, allowing 0 runs over the final 3 innings.
