Brewers Over Storm, 9-4
The Brewers got on the boards right away, with two runs in the first and two in the second. They scored two more in the fifth, to make it 6-0. Brewers starter, Greg Bertrand shutout the Storm for six innings, but the Storm scored three runs in the top of the seventh to tighten the score at 6-3. Brewers closer, Scott Singleton shutout the Storm in the top of the eighth, while the Brewers scored three in the bottom of the eighth. The Storm scored one more run in the ninth, as the Brewers won, 9-4.
Matt Trites, Joe Pita, Raul Verdecia, Jesse Tejeda, and Mark Lenhoff each had two hits on the day, with Tejeda driving in two runs and making some sparkling plays at second base, including going behind the bag for a blooper that bounced, picking it up and shoveling it to shortstop, Augie Alonso, who completed a webgem doubleplay.
The Storm was led by Scott Bailey (2-4), Pat Armstrong (3-4, with a double) and newly-acquired man-on-a-mission, Fred Goetschel (3-4, a double and 3 RBIs)
