Colt 45s Victorious
In a game that Cooperstown may want to seriously consider archiving, the LA Colt 45s managed to best the Westchester Cardinals. Both teams played fantastic defense, with both squads yielding only eight errors each. The 45s were able to out do their opponents in the running game by getting picked off four times, three on the same at bat (please don't ask for an explanation.)
The Cardinals led the game twice, 1-0 after two innings and again 5-3 after four thanks to the pitching of Luke Lipan and a base loaded double by Frank Walsh. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the 45s pitching was stellar, yielding no earned runs. The usual suspects, Dave Noll, Bill Brown and Robert Lewis threw way more pitches than usually necessary, but still focused enough get out of some truly ugly innings.
Dave Noll not only threw the ball well, but went 3-4 with four RBI.
