Brewers Win Division With 15-2 Victory Over Storm
The Brewers clinched the Division title with a 15-2 victory over the Storm. Greg Bertrand and Scott Singleton kept a tough Storm lineup in check, while the Brewers offense featured 3-hit games from Jim Fier (2 doubles), Joe Pita, Mark Grizzle (3 RBIs) and Raul Verdecia.
There was a big scare in the middle of the 4th inning, when Storm pitcher, Scott Bailey, threw a pitch that made a loud snap. He showed a lot of courage as he was removed from the game in serious pain. He was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken humerus bone. He will be out for several weeks, with possible surgery ahead. Fortunately, and to the relief of the Storm and Brewers as well as his many amigos in the LABL, this one tough hombre says that he will be back on the ballfield before long. Heal quickly, Scott.
