Storm Offense Too Much For Rams in 34 a 0 Rout
Scarborough jumped out to an early lead on Deering and captured a 34-0 victory on Wednesday at Portland.
The game was decided quickly as Scarborough exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.
A wild pitch, an error, a two-run error, a sacrifice fly by Lilly Volk, a walk by Tori Hale, and a walk by Alyssa Williamson during the first inning and a two-run single by Chloe Gorey in the second inning supplied the early offense for Scarborough.
Brenna Kent racked up four RBIs on three hits for Scarborough.
Sophia Burnham was in control on the rubber. Deering managed just one hit off of Burnham, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during her four innings of work.
Scarborough pounded Deering pitching, as nine hitters combined for 15 hits, 22 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
Doughty was charged with the loss. She allowed 12 runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked eight and struck out one.
Scarborough added six more runs in the top of the fourth. A bases loaded walk scored Tori to start the scoring in the inning.
Scarborough increased its lead with 17 runs in the fifth. Kaleigh Scoville kicked things off with a single, bringing home Dani Plummer. That was followed up by Brenna's single, plating Chloe and Kaleigh.
