Scarborough offense too much for Marshwood in 14-0 rout
Scarborough shut the door early on Marshwood, capturing a 14-0 victory on Monday at Scarborough.
Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed Scarborough to put the game away early.
An RBI single by Sophia Burnham, an RBI double by Kaleigh Scoville, and a wild pitch in the first inning and a two-run single by Ashley Gleason, an RBI single by Brenna Kent, an RBI single by Sophia, an RBI single by Maggie Murphy, and a two-run double by Abbie Murrell during the second inning fueled Scarborough's offense early.
Ashley racked up two RBIs on two hits for Scarborough.
Scarborough's Sophia kept Marshwood off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up six.
Scarborough easily handled Marshwood pitching as six hitters combined for nine hits, 11 RBIs and eight runs scored.
Robiida took the loss for Marshwood. She allowed 14 runs in four innings, walked five and struck out two.
