Murrell Leads Storm to 18-4 Win Over Noble

Abbie Murrell leads the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity to 18-4 win over Noble HS

Abbie Murrell clubbed two home runs to carry the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity to an 18-4 win over Noble HS at Noble in seven innings.

Nine runs in the first three innings helped the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity blow out Noble HS. An RBI double by Sophia Burnham, a two-run triple by Brittany Plowman, an RBI double by Kaleigh Scoville, and an error in the first inning and a three-run home run by Murrell during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.

Murrell had an impressive outing against Noble HS' lineup. Murrell held Noble HS hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.

Burnham got the win for the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity. She allowed four runs over three innings. She struck out one, walked two and surrendered four hits.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity easily handled Noble HS pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Kailey Coleman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 18 runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out five.

A four-run third inning helped bring Noble HS within five. An RBI single by Katie Taylor and a three-run single by Morgan Perillo sparked Noble HS' rally. Burnham ended the inning by getting Kasey Poligni to.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity built upon their lead with five runs in the sixth. The inning looked promising, as Murrell homered to kick things off. That was followed up by Chloe Gorey's single, bringing home Plowman.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity increased their lead with four runs in the seventh. Chloe Griffin's single got things going, plating Plowman. That was followed up by Laura Powell's single, bringing home Chloe Gorey.
