Storm Defeat Spartans 6-1 Remain Undefeated
The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity beat Sanford HS 6-1 in seven innings on Saturday at Scarborough behind Laura Powell, who went 1-1.
She doubled in the sixth inning.
The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity relied on Lilly Volk to eat up innings en route to the win. Volk pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out three.
Jeanette Jones ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out 14, and allowed five runs.
The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity went up for good in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Volk.
