6th Inning Rally Sparks Win For Scarborough, 16-3

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity beat Massabesic HS 16-3 in six innings on Monday at Massabesic after a 10-run explosion in the sixth inning.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity scored in the sixth on a two-run single by Kaleigh Scoville, a groundout by Lilly Volk, an error, a three-run home run by Maggie Murphy, a two-run single by Brittany Plowman, and an RBI single by Scoville.

Scoville racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.

Abbie Murrell got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over four innings. Murrell struck out five, walked four and gave up two hits.

Sarah Guimond was charged with the loss. She allowed 14 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.

The game's last lead went to the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on a solo home run by Scoville, a groundout by Ashley Gleason, and a two-run single by Chloe Griffin.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth. A ground out scored Scoville to start the scoring in the inning.
