11 Run First Inning Too Much For Portland

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Portland HS and captured a 12-0 victory on Wednesday at Scarborough.

With 12 runs in the first three innings, the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error, a two-run error, an RBI double by Chloe Gorey, a two-run double by Chloe Griffin, an RBI single by Lilly Volk, an RBI single by Maggie Murphy, an error, an RBI single by Abbie Murrell, and a walk by Chloe Gorey in the first inning and an RBI single by Sophia Burnham during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.
Murphy boosted her batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Scarborough Redstorm Varsity.

The Scarborough Redstorm Varsity's Burnham kept Portland HS off the scoreboard for all five innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.

Isabelle Dimillo took the loss for Portland HS. She allowed 11 runs in one inning, walked two and struck out none.
