Stallions Clip Condors
Sean Lang smashed 3 timely hits, driving in 4 and overcoming a mid-game cactus attack to led the horses to a decisive win over the game Condors. In spite of 2 errors, the Stallion defense dazzled, particularly in the left side combo of Jr Esparza and Rafael Hernandez. Jack Sanchez twirled another gem, scattering but 3 hits through 5 innings, losing the shutout in the 6th when an error and 3 hits plated the bird's only 3 runs of the game. Jr Esparza shut the door in the last 3 innings, retiring the first 8 batters he faced. After an error and single with 2 outs in the ninth, Bud Golditch grounded out to Lang at second to end the game. Jon Curl was tossed from the mound in the 7th after consecutive HBPs and reliever Rick Gari, in his first appearance this year on the hill, was greeted with a 2 RBI single by Joey Martino, before settling down and allowing no more hits through the last innings.
