Bruins Pitching Grounds Condors
Roybal was in great shape as the helicopters circled overhead for the early afternoon Dodger game. Dave Noll pitched 5 solid innings (surrendering 1 run) while Bill Brown and Jade Devitt lowered the Bruins bullpen ERA with 4 more shut out innings for the 15-1 win.
The Condors battled all game, but couldn't come up with the big hits they needed with runners in scoring position. Meanwhile, the Bruin bats kept churning away, racking up 18 hits while scoring in 8 of the 9 innings. New daddy Jason Swink returned from paternity leave with two hits including a booming RBI triple and Dave Brown added 4 hits (3 RBI).
A "verbal interference" call was the most interesting highlight of the game: A Bruin hitter was called out after the on deck hitter reacting to a pop up behind the mound yelled to the runner on third: "That may drop".
