Bandits Nearly Steal One From Bruins
The Bruins came out of the gate fast, scoring 11 in the first 3 innings. Steady defense and strong pitching appeared to have the game well in hand until the "never say die" Bandits started stringing together hits and walks and rallied for 10 runs in the last two innings. With the tying run at the plate, Jade Devitt settled down on the mound and earned the save with a fly ball to center to finally end a ninth inning that seemed like it would never end. Clutch 2-out RBI hits by Elliot Reinfeld, Robert Lewis, and new Bruin Chris Kupillas were key to the victory. Dave Brown also added 3 hits including 2 doubles.
For the Bandits, Jerry Whitaker was a one man wrecking crew, reaching base 5 times (including THREE triples) and scoring 3 times.
