Angels Take Battle of AARP Pitchers!
The early game at Occidental started with distinguished AARP members facing off on the mound, John Schuermann for the Bucs and Jess Whitehill for the Angels. Reaching back to an earlier time (when he was 61) Whitehill went the distance, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) and even going 2-2 at the plate. The Angels other AARP member, Mark Freeman, also had a big day, going 2-3 and driving in 5 runs. And the youngest Angel, Lorenzo Ramos, had a good day too, going 2-4 with a double and 2 rbi. Soon to be AARP member, Charles Blakey, went 2-3 with a walk and an rbi. The Angels played outstanding offense, especially the left side with Ryan Davis and third and Edwin Bonilla at short.
