Another Tie
The Condors 2nd tie in as many weeks. Todd Levy goes all 9 for the Royals. Rick Gari goes 7 1/3 for the Condors. The Royals open the 1st with 2 runs that Condors get back, in the 2nd, on Rick Gari's 2 run single. It's quiet till the 6th when Marlon Correa gives the Royals a 1 run lead with a HR that easily clears the LF fence. The Royals add 1 more in the 8th to take a 4-2 lead. The Condors bottom of the 8th starts with singles from Kremer and Honda. Then, Eric Rice hits a towering shot that clears the LCF fence for a 3-run HR and a 1 run lead. Todd Levy starts the top of the 9th getting on base and working his way around to tie it at 5. The Condors lead off the bottom of the 9th with a 2BL, that lands the winning run at 2B with 0 outs. Levy bears down getting a K, an IF pop, the intentional walk, and a ground ball to 2b that ends it in a tie, stranding the winning run, now, at 3B. Rick Gari throws 7 1/3 strong innings working his way out of a few tough jams. Rick's complaints to his manager, in the 3rd inning, about a sore arm fall on deaf ears (literally), as his manager forces him into throwing 4 more innings. Finally, after Gari's begging and pleading, the manager allows him to come out. Good pitching and offense from Levy and Gari, and strong hitting from Correa and Rice supply all the games highlights.
