Brito gem, Oliver bomb lead Pirates over Tigers
Ace Rich Brito was completely dominant in leading the Pirates to a 1 run victory over the Tigers tossing a complete game, registering 7 strikeouts and issuing zero walks at one time retiring 7 straight and 13 of 16 from the 4th through the 8th inning. Dennis Oliver was a monster at the plate with 4 hits, two runs scored and 2 RBI's. With the game tied at 3 in the bottom of the 4th Oliver launched a bomb to deep left for what would become the game winning hit as both sides moved into a complete pitchers duel the rest of the way. Ken Rise continued his hot hitting with two more hits for the Pirates.
