Stallions Find Refugio (refuge) in Esparza!
In a rocking and rolling game in the heat, the much-improved Titans plated 6 to open the game. The Stallions steadily marched downfield so that by the time Jr. Esparza handed the ball to Rod Mojarro in the bottom of the 6th, the Stallions had finally taken the lead which they never gave up. Rod faced only 10 batters in the ensuing 3 innings, yielding in the 9th to give Kevin Klaus some work on the mound. The undaunted Titans took advantage of Kevin's bit of rust and got the tying run to 2nd. In a "heated" examination of the rules, Jr. came in to bail out Klaus and end up saving his own win! He also crashed a two-run homer over the left field fence in the 3rd to help his own cause.
