Bonaddio Construction gets by Cove Deli 5-4 in Thriller !

Cove Deli struck first with a big 3 run Home Run by Trey Diurno to take an early 4-0 lead. Bonaddio Construction battled back with 3 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th for an exciting come from behind victory against a solid effort from Cove Deli. Mitch Stiles pitched briliantly through 4 innings not allowing a run. Ethan Platt came on in the 5th inning with no outs and the bases loaded and was able to keep the lead 4-3, by getting two strikeouts and a ground out to end the inning in the 5th. In the top of the 6th Bonaddio Construction turned their second double play of the game as Jose Vasquez started a nifty 6-4-3 double play. In the bottom of the 6th Daniel Miller led off with a walk and Cooper Grillo followed with a game tying single knocking in Miller who had advanced on a passed ball. After a two out infield single by Vasquez to keep the rally going Tommy Bartley beat out a ground ball to second scoring Grillo for the decisive run. Jake Pomponi picked up the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings. Grillo had 3 hits, Miller a double and 2 runs scored, Vasquez reached base all four times for the winners, who played a strong defensive game. Cove Deli was led by Alistair Morin with a single and run scored and RBI and Mitch Stiles who was 3 for 3 with a double.
