Gorey Leads Scarborough to 34-0 win over Deering

A superb effort by Chloe Gorey hoisted Scarborough High School to a 34-0 win in five innings over Deering HS on Wednesday.

Chloe Gorey racked up six RBIs on five hits for Scarborough High School. She doubled in the fourth inning, tripled in the first and fourth innings, and singled in the third and fifth innings.

Six runs in the first three innings helped Scarborough High School blow out Deering HS. An RBI triple by Chloe Gorey and a groundout by Chloe Griffin in the first inning and a wild pitch during the second inning fueled Scarborough High School's offense early.

Scarborough High School's Chloe Griffin kept Deering HS off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out seven.

Scarborough High School easily handled Deering HS pitching as 10 hitters combined for 30 hits, 29 RBIs and 31 runs scored.

Scarborough High School built upon its lead with three runs in the third. A double by Chloe Griffin ignited the offense,, scoring Maggie Murphy and Chloe Gorey.

Scarborough High School piled on 16 more runs in the top of the fourth. Chloe Gorey kicked things off with a triple, plating Murphy and Hannah Ricker.

Scarborough High School added 12 more runs in the top of the fifth. Sam Carriero's single got things going, bringing home Murphy. That was followed up by Tori Hale's double, bringing home Chloe Gorey and Chloe Griffin.
