Abbie Murrell leads Scarborough to 8-0 victory thanks to 12

Tuesday was a great day for Abbie Murrell, as Murrell threw a shutout to carry Scarborough High School to an 8-0 victory over South Portland HS in seven innings.

Murrell racked up 12 strikeouts in the Scarborough High School win. Scarborough High School's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed Scarborough High School to easily put away South Portland HS. An RBI single by Kaleigh Scoville, a three-run triple by Laura Powell, and during the first inning supplied the early offense for Scarborough High School.

Powell racked up three RBIs on one hit for Scarborough High School.

Stephanie Aceto ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out three.

Scarborough High School piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Chloe Gorey doubled, plating Maggie Murphy. That was followed up by Scoville's single, scoring Chloe Gorey.
