15 Strikeouts From Abbie Murrell, Win 14-2 Over Portland HS

Tuesday was a great day for Abbie Murrell, as Murrell struck out 15 batters to carry Scarborough High School to a 14-2 victory over Portland HS in seven innings.

Scarborough High School continued to add runs until the end of the game. Scarborough High School scored five runs in the last one innings to finish off the win. Scarborough High School scored five runs in the seventh on Scarborough High School scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Lindsey Kelley, an RBI double by Hunter Greenleaf, a sacrifice fly by Katie Verreault, an RBI single by Chloe Griffin, and an RBI single by Kaleigh Scoville.

Chloe Gorey racked up two RBIs on three hits for Scarborough High School. She tripled in the second inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Sydney Gilbert took the loss for Portland HS. She allowed 14 runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out three.

Scarborough High School never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on a groundout by Lilly Volk and two singles.

Scarborough High School piled on two more runs in the top of the second. A single by Maggie Murphy ignited the offense,, scoring Hannah Ricker. That was followed up by Chloe Gorey's triple, bringing home Murphy.

Scarborough High School increased its lead with three runs in the sixth. Verreault kicked things off with a single, scoring Laura Powell. That was followed up by Murphy's double, bringing home Verreault.
