Storm Jumps on TA and Coasts to 10-0 Shutout

Scarborough High School jumped out to an early lead on Thorton Academy and captured a 12-0 victory on Friday.

Ten runs in the first three innings allowed Scarborough High School to put the game away early.

An error, a two-run home run by Katie Verreault, and an RBI single by Chloe Griffin in the second inning helped Scarborough High School put some runs on the board early.
Laura Powell racked up three RBIs on two hits for Scarborough High School. She singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

Scarborough High School's Lilly Volk kept Thorton Academy off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up nine.

Louisa Colucci was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out one.

Scarborough High School added six more runs in the bottom of the third. A three-run blast by Powell ignited the offense,, bringing home Courtney Brochu and Abbie Murrell. That was followed up by Maggie Murphy's triple, plating Verreault.

Scarborough High School piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. A wild pitch scored Hannah Ricker to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Chloe Griffin's single, scoring Murphy.
