Murrell Leads Scarborough to 12-0 Victory Thanks to 11 K's

A great effort by Abbie Murrell lifted Scarborough High School to a 12-0 win in seven innings over Massabesic HS on Wednesday.

Murrell struck out 11, paving the way for a Scarborough High School win. Scarborough High School's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit.

Eight runs in the first three innings helped Scarborough High School blow out Massabesic HS. A hit by pitch, an RBI single by Hannah Ricker, a fielder's choice, and a two-run single by Murrell in the second inning supplied the early offense for Scarborough High School.

Maggie Murphy was hot from the plate for Scarborough High School. Murphy went 3-4 and scored one run. She tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

Sarah Guimond ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 11 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.

After posting three runs in the third, Scarborough High School again scored three in the fifth. In the third, Scarborough High School scored on an error, bringing home Laura Powell.
