Great Defensive Plays Leads Quinn Construction To Victory
Quinn's starter, Zack Salmon, had a rough start in the first inning. Pasquale's put three runs on the Mudcats highlighted by an Anthony Defilippo 2-run double. Quinn Construction got on the board in the third inning. Todd Sekowski walked and came around on Tarran Senay's triple. Senay scored on Greg Schneider's well placed double, making it 3-2. The Mudcats took back the lead in the 4th inning. Tommy Pasinski lead off the inning with a HBP and then stole second. Ryan Kandsberger bounced a grounder to the right side, moving Pasinski over to third base. After Kevin Quinn got plunked, Zack Miller cleared the bases with a triple giving Quinn Construction a 4-3 lead that they would never relinquish. Salmon settled down after his rough start and pitched an effective 4 innings. Cody Gross relieved Salmon in the 5th inning and tossed the final three frames to earn the save. In the top of the fourth inning, with two on and two out, Todd Sekowski made a highlight reel catch in left to rob Pasquale's of runs. In the top of the 7th inning, with two on and two out, Tommy Pasinski ended the game with a sliding catch in shallow right center.
