Hills Defeats Park In Battle Of The South
South Hills jumped out to an early three run lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back. After a John Zilles walk and a Brandon Whitfield single, Jon Leber hit a two run home run to cap off the inning. South Park got a run back in the second started by a lead off double by Chad Jacob, the first of his three hits in the game. In the top of the fifth inning, South Park was able to pull within a run, but the Snappers would respond in the bottom half of the inning. Tom McCarthy singled to lead off the inning, followed by a walk and a two out double by Pat McCarthy to plate two runs. South Hills put the game away in the sixth scoring three additional runs. Matt McCartney picks up his first win tossing five innings allowing just one run.
