Nick Arnoni Leads SP To Victory With His Arm And Bat
Nick Arnoni threw a complete game and drove in the winning run in the top of the 7th to lead South Park to the win tonight. South Park plated one run in the first and one in the fifth off of starter Eddie Schussler to hold a 2-0 advantage. Schussler pitched well and worked his way out of trouble several times. The Twins answered back in the bottom of the 5th with 2 of their own to tie it up. After a scoreless 6th, Anthony Monaco came up with one out and legged out an infield single off of reliever Ken Gault. Monaco was able to move around to 3rd on wild pitches. After consecutive walks to load the bases, Gault was able to get a strikeout for the second out. That brought up Nick Arnoni who laced a single off of first base, allowing Monaco to score the go ahead run. The Twins did get the tying run aboard in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs but Arnoni got an infield popup to end the game. The Twins were led by Jim Weber's 2 RBI and Dan Lippert's 2 singles. South Park's Monaco was 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Also with multi-hit games for SP were Alex LaBarbera and Arnoni. The Dodson brothers, Adam and Ryan, each contributed an RBI and Chad Jacob chipped in with a double.
