Scarborough High School Softball Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Thornton Academy HS
An early lead helped Scarborough High School Softball defeat Thornton Academy HS 18-6 on Friday. Scarborough High School Softball scored on a home run by Chloe Griffin in the first inning, a single by Sam Carriero in the first inning, a single by Bella Dickinson in the second inning, and a home run by Laura Powell in the second inning.

Scarborough High School Softball took an early lead in the first inning. Chloe Griffin drove in one when she homered in the first inning.
After Scarborough High School Softball scored three runs in the top of the fifth, Thornton Academy HS answered with three of their own. Scarborough High School Softball scored when Laura Powell doubled off of Louisa Colucci, driving in one run, Abbie Murrell singled off of Colucci, driving in one run, and Lindsey Kelley tripled off of Colucci, driving in one run. Scarborough High School Softball took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Bella Dickinson singled off of Katie Verreault, driving in one run and Powell homered off of Verreault, driving in two runs.
Scarborough High School Softball scored four runs in the seventh inning. Scarborough High School Softball's big inning was driven by a error, a single by Felicia O'Reilly, and a single by Hannah Ricker.
Volk earned the win for Scarborough High School Softball. She went four and a third innings, allowing six runs, five hits, striking out five, and walking zero.
