4-Hit Day For Putnam Earns Whitman Vikings JV Victory Over

Eli Putnam had the hot hand on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Whitman Vikings JV to a 23-8 victory over Rockville. Putnam singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the sixth, and doubled in the sixth.
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Whitman Vikings JV collected 20 hits and Rockville had seven.
In the first inning, Whitman Vikings JV got their offense started. Whitman Vikings JV scored one run when Mark Dimitrov singled.
In the bottom of the first inning, Rockville tied things up at three when R Johnson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Whitman Vikings JV pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. Rockville scored three runs in the fourth inning. B Carlson and J Leon all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Dimitrov led things off on the rubber for Whitman Vikings JV. He surrendered three runs on three hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one.
S Kelly toed the rubber for Rockville. He lasted one inning, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out one. Athanasakis and S Eckenrode entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four innings and one inning respectively.
Whitman Vikings JV collected 20 hits on the day. Zindler, Putnam, Meline, Matt Dickstein, and Dimitrov all had multiple hits for Whitman Vikings JV.
