Scarborough Defeats MGA in Combined 1 Hit Shutout Blowout

Scarborough High School/Redstorm defeated Maine Girls' Academy 30-0 on Saturday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Mia Kelley induced a fly out from Liberty Ladd to finish off the game.
Chloe Griffin led Scarborough High School/Redstorm to victory by driving in six runs. She went 3-for-5 at the plate. Griffin drove in runs on a home run in the second, a double in the second, a single in the third, and a fielder's choice in the fourth.
Scarborough High School/Redstorm got things started in the first inning when Courtney Brochu singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Scarborough High School/Redstorm put up 12 runs in the third inning. Scarborough High School/Redstorm big bats were led by Felicia O'Reilly, Laura Powell, Griffin, Hunter Greenleaf, Brochu, and Sam Carriero, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
A single by Jill Joyce in the first inning was a positive for Maine Girls' Academy.
Bella Dickinson earned the win for Scarborough High School/Redstorm. She lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one. Kelley and Griffin entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Cameron Birks toed the rubber for Maine Girls' Academy. She went two and a third innings, allowing 20 runs on ten hits and striking out two. Holly Akey threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Scarborough High School/Redstorm launched two home runs on the day. Griffin went deep in the second inning. Dickinson put one out in the third inning.
