Mudcats Scratch Out A Win In Extra Frames
Plum held a 4-3 lead going into the 7th but couldnt hold on for the victory. Jim Pasquine lead off the 7th with a triple to deep right field. With one out, Zack Miller squeezed home Pasquine with the tying run to send the game into extra innings. In the top of the 8th, Cody Gross singled and moved to second on Tom Simchos ground ball. Anthony Girdano reached on a fielders choice making it first and third with two outs. It looked like Plum was going to get out of the inning unscathed as Pasquine hit a routine ground ball to first that took a bad hop allowing Pasquine to reach base and the go ahead run to score. Mike Herman brought home an insurance run with a single to make it 6-4 Mudcats. Pasquine shut it down in the bottom of the 8th inning to record the victory on the mound in relief.
