Powell's Walk Off Home Run Seals SMAA Championship in 9th

Powell's Walk-Off Gives Scarborough High School/Redstorm Victory Over Noble
Scarborough High School/Redstorm defeated Noble 3-2 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off home run. The game was tied at two with Scarborough High School/Redstorm batting in the bottom of the ninth when Laura Powell hit a solo homer.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Bella Dickinson struck out 12, while Noble pitchers sat down two.
Scarborough High School/Redstorm opened up an early lead in the second inning when Courtney Brochu singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
In the top of the sixth inning, Noble tied things up at two when Kassidy Lessard doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Dickinson was credited with the victory for Scarborough High School/Redstorm. She allowed three hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out 12.
Mackenzie Aleva took the loss for Noble. She allowed one hit and one run over one-third of an inning, walking zero.
Reagan Kelley started the game for Noble. She went eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out two
Scarborough High School/Redstorm socked one home run on the day. Powell put one out in the ninth inning.
Brochu went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Scarborough High School/Redstorm in hits.
