BVA Victorious Over Trinity In Low-Scoring Affair
Both teams were strong on the mound Saturday, but BVA defeated Trinity 3-2. BVA pitchers allowed just six hits to Trinity.
BVA got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity.
Andrew Sokol got the win for BVA.He went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one. Tyler Steadman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Steadman recorded the last three outs to earn the save for BVA.
Clarence Pomykayla took the loss for Trinity. He lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out one and walking zero.
BVA totaled nine hits. Logan Seliga and Sokol all managed multiple hits for BVA. Sokol and Seliga each collected two hits to lead Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity.
Forrest Havanis led Trinity with three hits in four at bats.
