EFAlmost Erases 4-Run Deficit In Loss To BVA
Despite seeing its four-run lead whittled down by the end, Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity still held off Elizabeth Forward for a 5-4 victory on Wednesday. Elizabeth Forward scored four runs in the failed comeback. Nate Holma, Patrick Minda, and Evan Lewis powered the rally with RBIs.
Elizabeth Forward scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Belle Vernon Leopards Varsitystill managed to pull out the victory. Holma and Minda powered the big inning with RBIs.
Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Tyler Steadmansingled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Max Gauden led the Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. He allowed five hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Andrew Kostelnik threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kostelnik recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Belle Vernon Leopards Varsity.
Jacob Schmidt took the loss for Elizabeth Forward. He allowed 11 hits and five runs over six innings, striking out five.
