BVA Stays Scrappy In Loss To Elizabeth Forward
Despite an 8-run deficit in the fifth inning, BVA almost came all the way back, eventually falling 14-12 to Elizabeth Forward on Wednesday. BVA scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Tyler Steadman, a single by Mason Pascoe, a double by Andrew Sokol, a single by Joshua Hoffman, and a groundout by Cole Naylor.
BVA was right in it until Elizabeth Forward singled in the fifth inning.
Elizabeth Forward captured the lead in the first inning. Patrick Minda drove in one when he singled.
BVA tallied six runs in the sixth inning. Steadman, Pascoe, Sokol, Hoffman, and Naylor all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
David Smith was credited with the victory for Elizabeth Forward. He surrendered eight runs on eight hits over three innings.
Andrew Kostelnik took the loss for BVA. He went two innings, allowing five runs on six hits and walking one.
Naylor started the game for BVA. He went two innings, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out three and walking zero Jacob Schmidt started the game for Elizabeth Forward. He lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out two and walking zero.
BVA scattered 15 hits in the game. Pascoe, Hoffman, Logan Seliga, Sokol, and Aidan Ochs all managed multiple hits for BVA. Pascoe went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead BVA in hits.
Elizabeth Forward totaled 16 hits. Minda, Chase Vaughn, Nate Holma, and Schmidt all had multiple hits for Elizabeth Forward. Minda led Elizabeth Forward with four hits in four at bats.
