Game 11 - Quinn Construction Wins Classic Pitchers Duel
If you like pitching and defense, West Field was the place to be last night. With the Pittsburgh Rebels backs to the wall, they sent their ace, Mason Miller to the mound on three days rest and he did not disappoint. Quinn Construction countered on the hill with a combination of AJ Olasz, Kenny Gault and Jim Pasquine. Both teams failed to score a run in regulation and the game finally ended with a bases loaded, walk off single to deep left by AJ Olasz in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Mudcats threatened to score early in the game but Miller got out of a bases loaded jam in the first and got out of danger in the second with runners at second and third. The Rebels almost scored in the second inning but Bo Williams was cut down at the plate, by centerfielder Tommy Pasinski, trying to score from second on a single. The Rebels also threatened in the third but catcher, Mike Herman, picked off Jared Ward at second base to kill the rally. Jim Pasquine earned the win with a flawless 2.2 innings of relief. David Boehme took the loss in relief of Miller. The Mudcats offense was lead by Greg Schneider (2-4 and 3 stolen bases) and Tommy Pasinski (3-4). Carson Rebel chipped in two hits for the Rebels. With this win, Quinn Construction advances to the finals and will meet the winner of the South Park/Snappers showdown on Friday night.
