Stallions to the Championships
JJ Shliebe-Leiro and Jay Smith hooked up in the playoff game - the Stallions came out swinging, giving JJ a 6 run lead before he took the mound. That was all he needed, racking up 13 Ks, scattering 10 base hits, and was never on the ropes. Both teams played stellar defense, loving that true-bouncing turf. Chuck Casillas went 4 for 4 and took a 5th base on an HBP. The rapidly condensing Infranca had a full day catching all 9 and walloping a couple of base hits - Sanchez (flawless at 1st base in his first game all year at that position), Vick, Sommer and Picha also had multi-hit games; as did Eric Rice, Richard Gari and Brian Dveirin for the birds. Jay Smith heaved a complete game as well, doing what he's done all year, winning a bunch, and keeping loses close. A great year for Condors, taking the pennant. But it's postseason now, and the showdown will be 9/9 against the Dodgers. Get those bets faded!!
